Hydrating the body flushes out toxins, keeps the skin glowing and improves the body's functions at a cellular level. It also aids in digestion. Aim for at least 2 litres of water per day, more if doing vigourous exercise. Ideally, finish drinking 30 minutes before a meal so it doesn't dilute the stomach acid and around an hour after eating. Cups of herbal tea, smoothies or water flavoured with cucumber, strawberries make a welcome alternative to plain water.
I like to start the day with a large mug of hot water with a slice of lemon to activate the digestive system before breakfast.
